Pixels ÷ Print size in inches = DPI

For example, imagine that your artwork is 2475 pixels wide and you want to print it 8.25 inches wide:

2475 ÷ 8.25 = 300 DPI

If you printed that same file 16.5 inches wide:

2475 ÷ 16.5 = 150 DPI

This is why simply changing a file’s DPI setting does not automatically improve its quality. A file needs enough actual pixels for the intended print size.
